IS MILD CIGARETTE SAFER?

Since the day I know the danger inside a cigarette, I never know why do people love to smoke. Even when they, those who are enjoy smoking a cigarette, know that there are more than 4000 chemical toxic in cigarette smoke.

Worse, that nowadays, there is one of a kind of cigarette that to be claimed as a 'mild' one. Whereas, this mild cigarette has a bigger chance to give them more health problem. Why? It is because there is something that has been created so this cigarette can pass the standard test.

Cigarette filter has been inserted by a ventilation holes, so this cigarette can pass the test as a 'mild' cigarette. But, in fact, that is not what happen in our lungs. This cigarette doesn't give less nicotine and tar to our lungs. Even more, this cigarette also has been added by some other chemicals that increasing the speed of nicotine that come to the brain, which expected can give faster satisfaction. And there is also some fragrant that has been added to the tobacco so that people will feel it as a mild cigarette.

However, people seems ignoring this fact, even after The Federal government's National Cancer Institute (NCI) conclude that mild cigarette doesn't give a better benefit to the smokers.

In fact, the coming of mild cigarette can make the smokers change their behavior. They will think that if they smoke a mild cigarette, they reduce the chance to having cancer or other bad result of smoking. As a result of this point of thinking, they will feel safe to smoke more mild cigarette, that is mean they will have more risk. Read More...

SWEAT HEALTH

In a tropical country, sweat is not always health. Too much sweat will make your body feel uncomfort, even feel ill.

Sweat also can lead to penumonia that also can be a trigger dan a cause of death of measles and influenza, especially in children. We can avoid this desease if the function of our body does not disturbed. This function, a job that done by cells in respiration system. Every cell has about 200 cilia (a very tiny hair) that produce a liquid. That cilia moves 10 – 20 times per second non stop, moving the liquid 1 cm per minutes to the throat.

Normally, the dust, microbes, fumes, and the other things will stick to the liquid, and be cleaned from the respiration system. Besides that, the liquid also keeping the channel of respiration wet.

If there is too much sweat, the liquid will be dry and sticky, so it can’t flow out and will block the respiration channel, so the bacteria will grow up there.

One solution for this problem is to reduce the sweat. In a non-AC room, the window has to be open widely so the fresh air will blow in. Avoid smoke also is a wise way to do.

JOBLESS

Wednesday, April 29th 2009. That was my graduation ceremony day. Finally, after this 4,5 years, I finished my study. And Im now an unemployment.... but, actually, I don’t think that Im a jobless. I have a job, I make money, even in a small amount. Too bad that people around me don’t think so. Even though they can see that I do make money, but they keep thinking that Iam jobless, and take a pity on me.

That makes me think that there is something wrong in the way we think. And the truth is, it is how most of our people way of think. Even my parents said that I have to get a job in a bank, or a firm, or something like that, when I told them that I want to be an entrepreneur. Most of our people think that people who have finished their education, they have to be an employee.

In fact, after this global crisis that attack most of countries in the world, the number of unemployment is rising dramatically. When getting a job become difficult, then why don’t we create our own job? Being entrepreneur is one way out. There’s nothing better than become a boss of yourself. You can work, you can play, you can have more spare time, and you can decide how much income you desire.

Here are some points you gotta check when you stuck in a jobless live:

Create a chance

Start from a small things in your neighbourhood. Keep on eye for a change happens around you. Learn what other people need, and fulfill it. Find out if there is a problem around your society, give them the solution.

Building network

Building network is a very important thing to do. The more relations you have, the bigger chance you will get. Help your friends as long as you can, and create a solid network so when you need help, your network will help you kindly.

Taking a risk

Just like a phrase in a movie – which I can’t remember the title – ‘no risk, no glory’. In bussiness, there will always a risk. You can get profit sometimes, and in other times, you lose.

Working harder

A success person always work two times harder than other people. So keep your hard work till the end and never give up.

Be creative

Keep learning, keep smart and creative. Always come up with new innovation so people will always waiting for you.

Be patience

Like old man said, ‘what come easy, will gone easily’. It perhabs will take days, weeks, months, or years before you finally get success.

Believe in you

It maybe take a long way to your success, but if you believe, there’s nothing impossible. Just believe in yourself.

LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP

A friend of mine, has a boyfriend staying out of town. They have this relationship form some years. Then sometimes ago, she met this guy, who treat her nicely, and soon, their relationship go beyond friendship. So now she is having two boyfriend in a sametime.

Sometimes, it makes me laugh to see how she handle them. She tell him that she miss him, and tell the other him that ‘I hardly can’t live without you here, baby’....

I know I can’t trust people easily – some of friends said that Im a suspicious – that’s why I choose not to have a long distance relationship. I feel that I can’t live here while he is far out there doing something with someone I don’t know, driving me nutts I guess.... (lol)

But, there is also a friend of mine that has a succesfull long distance relationship. They trust each other, she told me. They talking in phone for hours, chatting, emailing each other. They almost never having a dispute indeed.

So if you’re boyfriend or girlfriend is going to go to far far away, here are some comparison between long distance relation ship and close distance relationship.

· In close distance relation, your chance to know what he is doing, who he see or meet, is bigger than a long distance one. Of course its not that easy when your partner is having a job. You can’t always stick on him can you?

· If you are a kind of person that easy to fall in love, just dont take a long distance. The same way if you are a suspicious. It’s going to be too hard to take.

· Having limited gadget or budget is an obstacle for a long distance relation. You will need to phone her or him like three or four times a day, or just one time, but for hours. Your phone bill will make you collapse at the end.

· It may be vary, but long distance make you miss each other so when you talk, you don’t want to having a debate. It can work the other way. You won’t stop to argue each other because of a missunderstood or misscommunication. But, as my boyfriend said, the more we argue, the more romantic we are when we made up.

There you go. And I still choose a close distance relationship. I hardly can’t live.... Read More...

EARTH DAY

Some days ago i received email from Greenpeace. I know I’ve signed up to be a member of Greenpeace website, but since Im not an active member, I’ve forgotten my username and password to enter into my account in that website. I do feel guilty, truly, but I still can receive some routine emails from them, and I usually forward it to some of my friends.

There are some email that interesting for me, especially about wood that be used to make paper. It is too bad for us to lose big parts of our forests to make paper. Of course they said that they only fell the old enough trees to make paper. But, is it better to lose an ancient forest? I think it looks like a dilemma for us. Of course we can’t stay out of paper, tissue, paper bag, or anything that made from paper. The best thing we can do is to reduce the use of it, I guess, and recycling, of course. I do make recycle paper that made of unused papers, and coloured it with spices, grass, or flowers. And you know, the result is an unique papers with some sweet smells.

Here is the technique I use to make recycled paper

First, I cut some unused paper become small parts. The smaller it is, the easier it to shattered and blend. Then I put the shattered paper in a bucket of water for some days, usually I left it for two days. After two days, I just blend it in a blender – I’ve broken one of my mother’s blender to make this paper. The paper become a pulp in blender. Then I cast it using a strainer and spread it in the sun to dry. Usually I use these papers to make a birthday card, photo frame, or gift box.

There also some other ways we can do to keep this planet green.

Reduce the use of plastic bag

Plastic is an undissolvable elements that has been accumulate in our land for years. It can close the water way and create floods. Use the recycleable paper bag instead, or reuse the plastic bag. Bring your own paper bag or plastic bag when you go to the market.

Reduce the use of gasoline

Crude oil below our land has been mined for centuries. We should start to use it wisely from now. If you’d like to go to a near place, please, choose to take a walk. Not only you reduce the emission that released by your motorbike that creat a greenhouse effect, take a walk is good for your health also. Sometimes I think, it will be much better when the invention of solar cell can be more developed. Imagine you ride a comfortable car using a solar cell instead of gasoline.

Switch off your lamp

In the morning, or noon, when the weather is bright, and the sun is shining, switch off your lamp. And also other stuff in your house that you don’t use. Open wide the window to get some fresh air instead using a fan or AC. Switch off television that you don’t watch.

Plant some greens

There is nothing better than when you open your window in the morning, you can see the color of beautiful flower in your garden. Looking at the green out there, will make your mind relax. Smelling the sweet of flowers will make you more happy and reduce your stress. Trees also can shield your house from air pollution. Plant some fruit trees is even better. You can get your own mangoes, apples, or orange from your garden.

You see, there are many easy ways we can do for Mother Earth. I know that it’s not a big contribution, but I’ll do what I can do. And if we all do, we can save it before it’s too late.

CLOTHING INVENTION

Clothes were originally invented to protect people against the elements. As civilizations developed, people made clothes for more spesific purposes and devised ways to improve their clothes, by making them warmer, more waterproof or simply easier to get on and off.

Zipping up

In 1893 American Whitcomb Judson invented a sliding device with interlocking teeth that he used for fastening boots. Unfortunately, his device tended to jam or burst open. In 1914, Gideon Sundback made the first zip fastener to be used in clothing.

Foot wear

Early people devised various kinds of footwear to protect their feet from hard and stony ground. Many shoes, like an Aztec sandal, were made from plant fibres.

Waterproof fabric

Collapsible umbrellas were in use before 1800, but were very heavy. In 1848 Samuel Fox introduced steel frames, which were much lighter.

Jeans

Jeans were first made in 1874 by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss. They were designed for gold miners, who complained that their ordinary trousers wore out too quickly.

Lycra

Lycra introduced in 1959. Lycra was originally intended for underwear. Its figure-hugging qualities make it ideal for all kinds of clothing from swimwear to socks. Read More...

TELUK PENYU BEACH, CILACAP

It is probably not as famous as Kuta Beach in Bali or some other beaches in Indonesia, but, it’s famous enough in Cilacap, Purbalingga, West Java, Indonesia.

I went here last weekend. Actually, it is not in our schedule to visit the beach. We went to Cilacap to visit our family in Karang Talun, Cilacap.

We left Tegal at 5.30 in the morning, and arrived in Cilacap at 8.00. On the way to my family’s house, we suddenly had thought that it’s been a long time since the last time we had picnic together. So we decided to go to Teluk Penyu. Unfortunately, the beach is not too easy to find. There are some signs in the street that shows you the direction of the beach, but when we follow it, we get lost, so we have to asked some people around. And after about an hour, we finally found the beach.

After paid tickets for Rp 5000,- per each person, and the car has parked, we took a walk around the beach. But soon, it’s not the beach that attracked us most, but it was the souvenir shops that stand along the beach. There are so many of them. Most of them sold souvenirs and crafts made from shells, and other sea creatures. They sold, lamp caps, curtain, brittle, and some other kind of crafts. The price is ranged between Rp 10.000,- to more then Rp 100.000,-.

From the beach, we can see Nusakambangan, an island that famous for the prison that located there. But, Nusakambangan also interesting to visit because of its beauty.
